Start with the basics
Six short lessons every new trader should know before placing a real trade.
Lesson 1What is forex?
Forex is the market where currencies are exchanged. You trade pairs like EURUSD: you buy if you think the first currency will get stronger against the second, and sell if you think it will get weaker.
Lesson 2What is XAUUSD?
XAUUSD is the price of one ounce of gold in US dollars. Gold moves a lot during the day, which creates opportunities, but also means risk must be controlled carefully.
Lesson 3Pips & lot size
A pip is the smallest standard price move. Your lot size decides how much money each pip is worth. Smaller lots mean smaller wins and smaller losses. Beginners should start small.
Lesson 4Stop loss & take profit
A stop loss closes your trade automatically if price moves against you, limiting the loss. A take profit closes it when your target is reached. Never trade without a stop loss.
Lesson 5The 1% risk rule
Risk only a small part of your balance on each trade, for example 1%. With a $500 account, that's $5 per trade. This way, a few losing trades don't destroy your account.
Lesson 6How to read a signal
A signal tells you the direction (BUY/SELL), the entry zone, the stop loss and take-profit levels. Set your lot size so that hitting the stop loss costs no more than your risk per trade.
